Surrounded by active and retired police officers, fellow city workers, a former judge, friends and family, Belk was honored inside the City Hall council chambers. The reception included cake, punch and a slide show of pictures of Belk and his past and present colleagues.

Devereaux thanked Belk, who helped him begin his career at the police department as a reserve,  for his service to the citizens of Guthrie which began in 1984.

Along with City Manager Sereniah Breland, Devereaux presented Belk with an engraved specialized ring.

Belk delivered a few words of thanks to all that have supported him on the force and considered those to be his second family.
