Recently the Guthrie Noon Lions Club presented a special membership contribution award to Debra Brewer for all of her efforts and support of the club.
The presentation was made by Lion Kenneth Mitchell and recognized Debra “for her dedicated efforts to promote the Guthrie Lions Club and her commitment to the focus of Lionism: enhancement of vision in people throughout the world and providing service in our local communities.”
Lion Club President, Cheryl Tarter noted, “Debra has been the local coordinator of our “good sight for all” program and has spent endless hours providing assistance to those who need eye examinations and glasses. She has also provided leadership and enthusiasm for the various club fund raising activities that ultimately provide support for the Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch, college scholarships for High School Seniors and of course community activities like the United Way and ‘89er Celebration. Debra is a model for all Lion Club members.”
The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at the American Legion Building. If you are interested in joining our efforts to provide the gift of sight and our efforts in community service, please contact Tarter at 659-5659.
