Deputy involved in two vehicle accident on Hwy 33

It’s one of the most dangerous intersections in and around the Guthrie area and it resulted in another accident on Thursday evening. This time involving a Logan County deputy.

Just after 6 p.m. emergency crews responded to State Highway 33 (just east of I-35) and in front of Loves Truck Stop.

According to witnesses, a black Nissan SUV was traveling westbound on Highway 33 when a Logan County deputy failed to yield when attempting to turn into the Loves Truck Stop from Highway 105.

The two vehicles collided and sent the deputy’s SUV into a nearby ditch and the Nissan left with major front end damage.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded and worked the accident. No further details were released at the scene.

There were no injuries reported, but the deputy seek further evaluation, while the out-of-town driver of the Nissan was treated at the scene.
