Updated on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. — The man shot by a Logan County deputy Sunday afternoon remains at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Doctors are treating 44-year-old Jason Kougl for a gunshot wound to his hands.
Kougl was holding a knife to his chin when the deputy shot him.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI special agents investigate the shooting. Today, agents continue gathering information to add to a report, which agents will give to the district attorney.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI) agents were called to a scene of an officer-involved shooting in Edmond at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday.
So far, OSBI agents have determined a man inside a home at 9204 Bergamot Blvd. was shot in the hand by a Logan County deputy called to the house by the man’s wife.
The wife told dispatchers her husband was threatening to kill himself.
When deputies arrived, they found the man holding a knife with both hands under his chin. When it appeared the man was about to act on his threat, a deputy shot the man in the hand.
The man dropped the knife and deputies apprehended him.
The man was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital.
OSBI agents are at the scene conducting interviews and documenting the scene.
OSBI will submit a report to the district attorney, who will determine if the shooting was justified.
The man’s name will be released at a later date.
