In just a week construction crews demolished the 81-year-old viaduct on Guthrie’s west side.
“This is an active construction zone that changes daily and members of the public, including pedestrians, are strongly advised to observe all construction signs and barricades for their own safety,” an Oklahoma Department of Transportation spokesperson said.

The $17.2 million contract to reconstruct and widen the SH-33 bridge to four lanes was awarded to Manhattan Road and Bridge Co. of Tulsa. Work began in early 2017 and continues through late 2018.
