Dirt work begins for new medical facility on S. Division St.

Division St. is being prepared for a new business along the main business road in Guthrie.

Dirt work started in the 1100 block near Fairgrounds Road on Tuesday for a brand new medical facility.

Xpress Wellness Urgent Care is a private urgent care company based in Oklahoma with 10 locations in the state and Kansas, including Chickasha, Lawton, Shawnee, Weatherford, Woodward and Ardmore. The company says nine other locations will be coming soon.

Xpress Wellness will offer urgent care and occupational medicine services for non-life threatening conditions on a walk-in basis without the need for an appointment.

Founded in 2013, Xpress Wellness Urgent Care is the largest urgent care provider to secondary markets in Oklahoma and Kansas. In addition to urgent care, the company provides a number of services to pediatric and adult patients, including primary care, workers’ compensation, occupational medicine and sports medicine.

Xpress Wellness is expected be open seven days a week to allow patients convenience on evening and weekends to access to health care.

In February, the Guthrie city council granted unanimously a special use permit for the medical facility in the general residential zoning district (R-2).
