Friends, family, teammates and coaches are working to get a father and his three children some comfort after they lost everything in a house fire on Tuesday morning.
Zac Clymer woke up to smoke in his house and when he went inside the garage to investigate and saw flames. Those flames quickly took over and eventually destroying the house. Related article: Video: Homeowner escapes home full of smoke, flames
Luckily, his three children where staying somewhere else that evening.
Now, assistance is being asked from the community to help the family.
Clymer has a 14-year-old son, 14-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son.
“He is literally having to start from scratch and anything will help,” Clymer’s sister said on a Go Fund Me page that has been setup.
The Guthrie Junior High football program is also rallying around the family with the oldest child playing for the eighth grade team.
A parent will be available for drop off items at practice everyday this week. Practices are held at Faver School (1021 E. Perkins) from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Coaches say they will be accepting items for the two older siblings.
The 14-year-old male wears boys’ large t-shirts, pants are boys’ medium and wears a size seven shoe.
The 14-year-old female wears a woman’s large shirt, large/extra-large in woman’s pants and a size 9 in shoes.
The 11-year-old male wears boys’ extra large pants and shirts and six-and-a-half shoes. His donations can be dropped off at his football practice behind Southpointe Baptist Church (corner of Sooner and Division) from 6:30 – 8 p.m on Thursday, August 30.
All school supplies have also been taken care of.
Gift cards from Wal-Mart and Target are welcomed as well as personal hygiene items can be also dropped off.
