The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released a few details on the late Saturday night double fatality accident on Highway 33.
In a release on Monday by OHP, troopers said the driver of a 2014 Ford Taurus failed to yield at a stop sign and drove into the trailer of a 2001 Peterbuilt semi truck at the intersection of SH-33 and Broadway. Related article: Double fatality accident has SH-33 closed down
The impact killed both the driver and passenger in the Taurus.
OHP has not released their identity at this time.
The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
The crash report states the Taurus was northbound on South Broadway, while the semi truck was eastbound on State Highway 33. The Taurus failed to stop at a stop sign, impacting the tanker trailer and resulting the Taurus to catch on fire after impact.
