Several people were awakened early Tuesday morning when an earthquake hit near Guthrie.
The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed the 3.0 earthquake hit 16 miles east south-east of Guthrie at 3:49 a.m. Luther, Okla. was near the center just eight miles away.
The depth of the quake was 3.1 miles down.
Several Guthrie News Page readers said they felt the quake while other said there animals were startled and woke them up. One reader said, “it rattled my windows.”
No injuries or damages have been reported.

In November 2011, an earthquake registered a 5.6 and its epicenter was four miles east of Sparks in Lincoln County, according to the USGS. The 5.6 is the largest quake Oklahoma has ever felt. The previous strongest earthquake was April 9, 1952 in El Reno.
