Guthrie Public Schools received a tremendous donation Wednesday morning at the weekly Chamber Coffee with the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce. And, there’s more coming.
Eskridge Chevrolet donated $5,000 to the school district that will go towards the purchase of playground equipment at the new Charter Oak Elementary school.
“We are very thankful for the continued support from Eskridge Chevrolet,” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said.
Eskridge Chevrolet’s General Manager Billy Clark said his dealership is excited about the playground project and the future for Guthrie Public Schools.
While the hefty donation will go a long ways, Eskridge announced they are not done with donations to the schools. In fact, they will make at least four more donations this year alone.
The dealership, which was named the Business of the Year last year by the Chamber, will donate $50 to the school district for every vehicle sold from September 1 until the end of 2018.
“This is another example of the commitment our community has for our students,” Simpson added.
