Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students at Guthrie High School are set to join forces to help young students when it comes to increasing their ability to read.
Students Mollie Swartzbaugh, Madeline Balsiger and Alex Griffin are partnering with authors from Oklahoma to increase children reading and comprehension skills.
The authors are coming to Guthrie’s three youngest elementary schools and reading with the students with a group of high school students on various occasions.
Sandra Lawson, author of The Best Baker In The World, made the first visit on January 15.
Jody Weber, who was recently recognized as one of the Site Teachers of the Year at the high school, sponsors the FCCLA program at GHS.
