Last Friday, Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow lifted the city burn ban for Guthrie.
“We received nearly 2/3 inch of moisture over the last 36 hours, allowing for safer burning conditions in the short term,” Harlow said in a statement.
Harlow says it may be necessary to reinstate this ban may in the future, depend on weather and moisture conditions.
He reminds citizens that a permit is still needed to burn within the city limits and they can be obtained at the fire department.
