Four vehicle accident in OKC leaves one person dead from Guthrie

A four-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Guthrie man early Friday morning in northeast Oklahoma City.

Fatality AccidentCharles Hooper, 37, of Guthrie was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred at 12:23 a.m. on Interstate 35 just north of NE 10th Street.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, all four vehicles were travelling northbound when a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado lost control of its flatbed trailer, attempted to speed up and jack knifed departing the roadway to the right. Hooper’s 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle struck the trailer, tossing him into the center lanes.and was struck by two other vehicles.

The fourth vehicle, with an unknown description, left the scene of the accident.

The report states Hooper was wearing a helmet.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation as is the condition of the driver of the trailer.

There were no other injuries reported.
