The games were the first for both teams at home. The frosh scored the game’s first two scores, but found themselves down 14-12 before scoring 14 unanswered points for a 26-12 win. Meanwhile, the junior varsity controlled the entire game en route to a 20-6 win.

Guthrie sealed the deal late in the fourth quarter with the game still in the balance. Head coach Jon Chappell went to his bag of tricks on a third down and eight play.
After spending time-outs to stop the clock, Enid prepared for another running play and turns out they were correct until Davis stopped in his track and released the ball to a wide open Codding for a 23-yard gain on the half back pass.
Graybeal put the final touch on the game when he scored from 23-yards out with less than two minutes to play.
The freshmen are now 1-1 on the season with a 14-8 loss in their season opener at Ponca City.
