GHS golf teams off to good start

The Lady Jays and Bluejays golf teams are off to good starts in the first month of the spring season.

On Wednesday, the Lady Jays played at the Kingfisher Tournament and finished second in the 18-team field while playing in a Maxwell format.

Audrey Allen placed seventh with an 86 and Rylin Wells placed 10th with a 91. Other scores were Maely Beeby, 95, Taegan Reyes, 99, and Tatum Brown, 101.

On Thursday, the girls played in the Luther High School tournament, also a Maxwell format, held at the Augusta course at Cedar Valley. The Lady Jays won the 10-team tournament with a score of 369.

Rylin Wells placed third with an 89 and Tatum Brown placed fifth with a 95 overall. Other scores were Audrey Allen 102, Maely Beeby 103, and Taegan Reyes 104.

Monday they will play in the Car Albert Tournament at the John Conrad course in Midwest City and Tuesday, at Muskogee.

The boys recently participated in the Southmoore Invitational and finished ninth out of 16 teams.

Justin Green shot 80 and finished ninth overall. Britt Drake shot an 86, Daelon Rice a 90, and Riley Wilkerson a 96. Jack Todd finished with a 100 score, Hank Hinkle 104, and Callen Henke a 105.
