GHS sends 14 to Boys and Girls State

Guthrie High School named 14 students to serve as State Delegates with Boys and Girls State.

State delegates is a summer leadership and citizenship programs sponsored by The American Legion and is represented with Boys and Girls state delegates.

The weeklong program displays leadership and patriotism. Juniors are nominated and selected based on outstanding achievements, leadership and academic success.

Before leaving, students heard from senior classmates and fellow delegates, Tanner Ball and Brianna Berryman, on their experience from going a year ago and what to expect.

The boys traveled to Miami, Okla. while the girls went to Norman.

The event is sponsored by the American Legion of Oklahoma.

Students selected from Guthrie are Caden Hopfer, Trevor Welch, Jared Welch, Dane Jenkins, Kurgan Cornwell, Gavin Brison, Dakota Hoover, Josh Blackston, Paul Roettger, Cameron Sheehan, Kiah Thomas, Samantha Wall, Sarah Rhinehart and Sara Womack.
