GHS students deliver their “Ted Talks”

Students in Patricia Johnson’s senior English classes delivered their presentations in the Guthrie High School cafeteria on Tuesday.

Students researched a variety of topics, career fields, hobbies or a passion and put their thoughts on poster board and presenting those ideas to the student body.

The concept is similar to Ted Talks (Technology, Entertainment, Design). TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

About 200 GHS students shared ideas from music to promoting the academic team to raising show pigs to being a vegetarian.
