Guthrie Public Schools recently recognized their Certified and Staff employees of the month. For the month of September, Audrey Rose and Casey Anderson were recognized for their efforts.
Rose, a Guthrie Junior High School math teacher, was nominated by fellow teacher Shurlyn Maltz for her organization and communication.
“The daily assessing and meeting of Ms. Rose and her co-teachers is vital to finding the balance and appropriate placement for her students,” Maltz said. “She demonstrates pointed organization and communication skills in our department which makes this model effective for student engagement and growth in learning.”
Maltz added that Rose has “truly” embraced Guthrie and has become a true Bluejay.
Speaking of a true Bluejay, Anderson devoted several days and nights enrolling students at Charter Oak Elementary School.
Anderson, an administrative assistant, was nominated by Tara Drake for her commitment.
“Casey verified enrollment of all the kids. She communicated with parents, made appointments and handled some of the financial responsibilities,” Drake said. “Her work ethic is second to none.”
Drake had a medical issue during the enrollment period and was unable to help with enrollment. Not only was Casey able to handle the school duties, but checked in daily with Drake.
“Thank you Casey for making a difference each and every day at Charter Oak.”
Both recipients were presented with a $25 Sonic gift card from the Lions Club and a plaque.
