Grassfire burns 60 acres north of Guthrie

Bookmark and Share

The Guthrie Fire Department was busy on Thursday afternoon as they battled a grassfire north of town.

Grass FireFire Chief Eric Harlow says an estimated 60 acres of land went up in smoke near the area of County Road 74 and Midwest Blvd.

Chief Harlow says the fire broke out when a worker was cutting pipe for fencing with a cutting torch.

No structures were damaged as firefighters battled the fire for nearly two hours.

Coyle and Meridian fire departments assisted with the grassfire.
