Zero games in 16 days will now result in six games in nine days for the Guthrie High School basketball teams.
The recent Oklahoma winter storms not only canceled schools across the state, but put coaches and athletic directors in scramble mode trying to find open days in the last remaining days of the regular season basketball schedule.
Guthrie lost a total of three games to the storm (Deer Creek, El Reno, Piedmont) and now have been pieced together the three games with the rest of the regular season games with Harrah and Chickasha.
The BlueJays will travel to Carl Albert (11th), to Deer Creek (12th), to Harrah (15th), host Piedmont (17th), host Senior Night with Chickasha (18th), and conclude the season by hosting El Reno (19th). Highly unusual, but Guthrie will end the regular season with three straight days of games.
The girls will have four days off before playing Northwest Classen in the McGuinness regional, on Thursday, February 24th. The boys will have five days off before facing Carl Albert in a do-or-die first round regional game at Northwest Classen on Friday, February 25th.
