It took first year head coach Lee Linsenmeyer 23 games to collect his biggest win as the Lady Jays coach along with Guthrie’s biggest win in recent history.
The Lady Jays took down the 9th ranked Shawnee Lady Wolves with a 4-2 win on their home soil Friday afternoon. Guthrie is now 11-12 on the season and winners of their last four games.
In addition to the winning streak, Guthrie is now 4-1 in district play. The win is likely to move the team up into the Top 15 rankings this week. Currently they come in at number 17.
The Lady Jays are on the road twice this week when they visit NW Classen Tuesday and Southeast on Wednesday. They will be favorites in both games to win.
Guthrie drew even with the Lady Wolves on the season (1-1) after Shawnee defeated the Lady Jays 8-4 in the first game of the Shawnee Tournament back on August 25th.
