The Guthrie Educational Foundation will host a reception honoring the alumni of Guthrie High School as part as Homecoming festivities.
The foundation is hoping to make it a staple each year for Homecoming and grow it into something special that the alumni looks forward to. All alumni are welcomed to attend the banquet.
“This is the first time we have tried this, and would love to have a good crowd,” foundation President Steve Hanna said.
The event will be Thursday, October 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gage’s Steak House located at 202 West Harrison Ave.
Guthrie head football coach Rafe Watkins will be the key-note speaker to go along with door prizes and a silent auction.
The Guthrie Educational Foundation was established by parents, civic leaders, and community volunteers who believe the quality of life and economic development of a community are related to the quality of the local education system. A board of volunteers oversees the mission of the Foundation and operates independently of the school administration or school board of the Guthrie Public Schools.
