On Friday morning several Guthrie workers hit the streets on their bikes as they participated in the ride your bike to work day.
The League of American Bicyclists has designated Bike to Work Day as Friday, May 17. Bike to Work Day events are coordinated by the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments.
Participants included City Manager Sereniah Breland, Police Chief Damon Devereaux, Marketing Director Cody Mosley, Officer Jonathan Williams, City Clerk Wanda Calvert and several other citizens.
The group met at the Masonic Temple at 7:45 a.m. and cruised down Oklahoma Street toward City Hall. The event is aimed at encouraging people to commute on two wheels rather than by car, bus or train.
