Just never know who is going to visit Guthrie on a daily basis, but on Friday afternoon it was the 1978 Heisman trophy winner’s turn to make a stop.
Billy Sims was in town for the grand opening of his restaurant, Billy Sims Barbeque located at 1624 S. Division, with the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce. The NFL All-Pro stayed for several hours talking with fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, greeting and thanking customers as they came and went and shared several stories from his past as well as what he is doing now.
Afterwards, Sims visited and took a tour of the Oklahoma Sports Museum in downtown Guthrie.
