Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow announced this week that Captain Jason Starns and Lieutenant Ryan Reeves both recently achieved their certification as paramedics.
Harlow says the accomplishment is the culmination of over a year of classroom and lab work, along with countless clinical hours in both the hospital and EMS setting.
Starns has been with the Guthrie Fire Department (GFD) since 2002 and serves as a Captain on the green shift. Reeves began his career with GFD in 2007 and serves as a Lieutenant on the red shift.
“This is a great accomplishment, not only for these two men, but also for our department, The City of Guthrie and the fine citizens we serve,” Harlow said.
“This brings the total number of paramedics on our department to 9 and will allow us to now have three paramedics on each shift. This is one more step in our efforts to continually improve the level of care we provide to our residents,” Harlow concluded with.
