Guthrie Fire Department awarded grant for rescue boat

The Guthrie City Council approved acceptance of a grant of $24,910 from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for a new RescueONE Connector Boat, trailer, control console/steering wheel, 40 horsepower Mercury outboard motor and a folding dive/rescue platform.

The approval was made during the council’s July 19 meeting.

This new rescue boat will allow the fire department to replace the department’s 1984 Crestliner boat in poor condition that is currently used during flood situations and at incidents at Guthrie and Liberty Lakes.

“The City of Guthrie would like to thank Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their support of Fire/EMS and public safety,” a City spokesperson said.
