The 5A regional champs pose with the regional championship trophy with coaches Christian Fair and Lisa Reece.

The Guthrie High School cross country teams turned in strong performances Saturday at the Class 5A regional meet in Moore, highlighted by a regional championship for the Lady Jays and a third-place finish for the Bluejays.

Guthrie’s girls placed all five scoring runners among the top 17 finishers, including four consecutive finishes from eighth through 11th place, to claim the regional title with 55 points.

The Lady Jays finished 40 points ahead of second-place Durant, which scored 95 points. Carl Albert followed closely in third with 96 points, while Southeast finished fourth with 99 and Duncan rounded out the top five with 151.
