Guthrie Lady Jays tennis team qualifies for State

The Guthrie Lady Jays tennis team finished second overall at the Class 5A regionals and qualified each member of the team for the state tournament.

#1 Singles Kaylea Hopfer placed 3rd

In the first round she defeated Southeast 7-5, 6-1.  In the second round she lost to Carl Albert 6-2, 6-0.  In the qualifying round she defeated Lawton MacArthur 6-1, 6-0 and in the match for 3rd she defeated Lawton Eisenhower 6-4, 6-3.

#2 Singles Trista LeGrande placed 3rd

In the first round she defeated Capital Hill 6-0, 6-0.  In the second round she lost to Duncan 6-0, 6-0.  In the qualifying round she defeated Southeast 6-2, 6-1.  In the 3rd place match she defeated Lawton Eisenhower 6-0, 6-1.

#1 Doubles Makaya Coker and Kamber Smedley placed 3rd

In the first round they defeated El Reno 6-2, 6-0.  In the second round they lost to Lawton Eisenhower 2-6, 6-2, 4-6  In the qualifying round they defeated Lawton MacArthur 6-1, 6-1.  In the match for third they defeated Carl Albert 6-3, 6-2.

#2 Doubles Brianna Berryman and Ryan Robbins placed 2nd

In the first round they defeated Capital Hill 6-0, 6-0.  In the second round they defeated Carl Albert 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.  In the finals they lost to Duncan 6-4, 7-5.
