Guthrie man killed on I-40 multi-vehicle crash

A Guthrie man was killed following a three-vehicle crash in Oklahoma City.

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated the accident occurred Friday at 6:27 a.m. on Interstate 40 eastbound just west of Peebly Road.

The crash investigation shows a 2005 Subaru Outback was parked on the right shoulder when a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 23-year-old Jake Sing, of Guthrie, departed the roadway to the right for an unknown reason and struck the Subaru.

The impact caused the Elantra to come to a rest in the right lane facing north. A third vehicle, a 2021 Toyota Tundra, struck the Elantra.

Sing was pronounced deceased at OU Medical Center.

The driver of the Tundra, from Porum, Okla., was self-transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was treated and released.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
