The story of train robber turned funhouse mummy, Elmer McCurdy will be showcased on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. on the Travel Channel show Mysteries at the Museum.
The episode centers on the gun that killed McCurdy, which is now the center for a new exhibit at the Oklahoma Territorial Museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The exhibit covers the criminal career of Elmer McCurdy and his post mortem career as a carnival attraction, the gun that killed him and the lawman that fired the fatal shot. Recent research sheds new light on McCurdy as a criminal and reintroduces Stringer Fenton the hero of the story in 1911.
