Officer Jose Botello of the Guthrie Police Department has been awarded the Officer of the Year accolade at the recent Heroes in the Heartland Conference.
This recognition celebrates his extraordinary commitment to exceeding the expectations of his role, including training new officers to recognize and handle domestic violence cases, serving with exceptional character, and engaging in continuous rigorous training alongside Fire, Police, and EMS units. Botello’s dedication extends beyond his professional duties, as he generously offers his time to educate and mentor fellow professionals.
Celebrating eight years with the Guthrie Police Department, Officer Botello has consistently demonstrated an unrelenting commitment to law enforcement.

The Heroes in the Heartland Conference, now in its sixth year, aims to be the premier first responder conference in Oklahoma. Upholding its theme of “Bringing the Red and Blue Together,” the conference continues to provide high-quality training and lectures for first responders. Initially focused on Active Attacks, the conference now offers a broader range of education from the perspectives of law enforcement, fire/EMS, and dispatch.
