Motorists should always be alert to traffic laws and stay safe on the roadways. Drivers in Guthrie will especially need to pay attention as the Guthrie Police Department will heighten their patrol.
The department was awarded a traffic safety grant through the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office for the purpose of decreasing collisions and traffic-related injuries and fatalities.
Officers will increase their presence in areas prone to collisions and where traffic complaints have been received, and will be watching for speeding, impaired driving, inattentive/reckless driving, seatbelt violations, dangerous vehicles, disobedience to traffic controls, and other offenses.
Police say if you would like to report a traffic complaint, you’re encouraged to call 405-282-3535.
