Guthrie run-rules NW Classen 12-0 in six innings

The Guthrie Bluejays took down NW Classen on Tuesday 12-0 at Squires Field in six innings.

GHS Baseball graphicGuthrie (2-0) scored six runs in the fourth inning with an RBI single by Evan Kowalski, an RBI single by Camden Wilcott, a walk by Tyler Kisner, and a three-run error.

Wilcott was hot at the plate as he went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run.

NW Classen (0-3) couldn’t get anything going so long as Kowalski was on the hill. Kowalski gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.

The Jays built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. Braden Davenport singled, scoring Mitchell Taft to start the inning. That was followed up by Wilcott’s single.

Guthrie tacked on another four runs in the sixth. A error scored Chase Pfeifer for the inning’s first run.
