Guthrie school board approves 2026–27 school calendar

The Guthrie Board of Education has approved the 2026–27 academic calendar for Guthrie Public Schools, outlining key dates for the upcoming school year, including the first and last days of classes, scheduled breaks, and professional development days.

According to the approved calendar, teachers will report for in-service days on Aug. 10, 11, and 12, with the first day of classes for students set for Thursday, Aug. 13.

Labor Day will be observed on Sept. 7, followed by a professional day on Sept. 28. Fall break is scheduled for Oct. 15 and 16, with the end of the first quarter on Oct. 14. Parent-teacher conferences for all sites will be held on Oct. 19 and Oct. 22.

Thanksgiving break will run from Nov. 23 through Nov. 27.

The end of the second quarter is scheduled for Dec. 18, with winter break running from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1. Classes will resume on Jan. 5 following a professional day on Jan. 4. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed on Jan. 18.

Spring break is scheduled for March 15–19, with the end of the third quarter on March 12.

Two snow make-up days are built into the calendar on April 2 and April 16, if needed.

The last day of classes for students is scheduled for May 20.

The calendar includes 173 instructional days, seven professional days, and 180 total school days. Any additional inclement weather days beyond those built into the calendar would be made up at the end of the school year.
