Guthrie Schools receives dollars from local car dealer and Buick

On Thursday, Guthrie Public School’s Assistant Superintendent received a check from John Vance Auto Group and Buick for $ 5,080.00. High School teachers, parents and others participated in the “Buick Drive For Your Students” program sponsored by John Vance Auto Group. Guthrie School System received money for test drives performed during a special event held in September.

“We are extremely pleased to have participated in this fundraiser sponsored by our friends at John Vance Auto Group,” said Doug Ogle, Guthrie School Assistant Superintendent.” “This will give us needed dollars for academic and student activity programs.”

John Vance Auto Group Vice President Megan Vance said, “We conduct these types of fundraisers because it give us the opportunity to give back to our community. We are fortunate that vehicle manufacturers like Buick help in our mission to support local educational venues.”
