Guthrie Public Schools presented Cody Lewellyn and Rachel Gibson as their October Support and Certified Employee of the Month.
Cody was nominated by Susan Cox, while Rachel was nominated by Chirsty Paul.
“I really appreciate Cody. He is definitely a shining star in our department,” Child Nutrition Director Cox said in her nomination letter.
She added it does not matter what is going on with the day, he is all smiles with a can do attitude.
“He helps everyone he meets. I was told that Cody peeps his head into the (Central Elementary) main office to see if they need anything,” Cox said.
Guthrie Upper Elementary School’s Christy Paul says Gibson has been by far the most helpful and giving person she has taught here in Guthrie.
“She graciously helped all my subs with reading lessons for four weeks,” Paul said after being out of school due to COVID. “Rachel assisted them with morning work, flex, supplemental materials and MAPS testing with a district employee.”
“She has a huge heart and love for education.”
Cody and Rachel each received a plaque and a $25 Sonic gift card from the Lions Club.
