The Guthrie High School girls and boys tennis teams brought home impressive results from the Durant Tournament, continuing a strong spring season.
The Lady Jays delivered a standout performance, led by Lola Brown, who captured 1st place in No. 1 singles. Aspen Mitchell and Rylee Tobin earned second place in No. 1 doubles, while Kenzie Hardesty finished fourth in No. 2 singles. Haven Hudson and Hollie Mitchell claimed first place in No. 2 doubles, rounding out a winning effort for the team.
On the boys’ side, the duo of Carson Olmsted and Jaxson Mayer earned second place in No. 1 doubles after a hard-fought final match that ended in a super tiebreaker.
Both teams now shift their focus to regional play. The Guthrie girls will host the Class 5A East Regional at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center on May 5. The Guthrie boys will host their 5A East Regional at Edmond Centre Court on May 12.
