The Guthrie Youth Cheer program hosted a cheer clinic on Saturday and raised over $1,000 for breast cancer awareness.
The clinic, Save the Pom Poms, saw nearly 80 young ladies in grades pre-k through sixth perform a special routine honoring breast cancer fighters, survivors and those who lost the fight.
The event took place at the high school practice field.
The cheer group themselves raised $740 and after the sell of t-shirts, socks and bows at the little league football games they raised a grand total of $1,298.55.
Amanda Nalley, President of the Guthrie Youth Cheer, said the girls were excited about the chance to raise money for the worthy cause.
