Guthrie Youth cheerleaders receive sportsmanship award

The combined squad of third and fourth graders for Guthrie Youth Cheer walked away with the sportsmanship award from the Tuttle Competition.

“The Guthrie cheerleaders received the award this year because they were performing skills above some of the girls age appropriate skills,” a spokesperson posted on Facebook.

Each year, a special award is presented to only one team in the competition.

The award was likely earned as the Guthrie team wished all the other teams good luck, giving them high fives and cheering them on.

“The combination of sportsmanship and effort towards higher skill sets, set them apart from all of the other teams in the competition. Congrats to them all. They did an awesome job.”
