While the fine people at The Firefighter Museum were cleaning up, they discovered something very interesting.
Back in 1894, the Oklahoma Territorial Firemen Association (OTFA), now known as the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association (OSFA), was founded by three fire departments: Guthrie, El Reno and Oklahoma City. The original handwritten log book of the OTFA (pictured) contains the articles and corporation, bylaws, constitution and minutes from the first convention.
This jewel was found at the museum while sorting through some historical artifacts. The current Fire Chiefs of the original three founding fire departments proudly display this amazing piece of Firefighting history.
Pictured (L-R) is Oklahoma City Fire Chief Keith Bryant, El Reno Fire Chief Kent Lagaly and Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow with the handwritten log book.
