Grass fire near Highway 33 and Westminister

Update at 1:49 pm – Battalion Chief says they have control of the fire, but will be on scene awhile putting out hot spots. Fire embers are of some concern with several cedar trees in the area.

Update at 1:37 pm – Firefighters trying to get a stop of the fire, but having a hard time accessing the fire due to several trees in the area.

Update at 1:12 pm – Multiple brush piles and cedar trees in the area. Dozer being requested because of the land.

Update at 1:09 pm – Firefighters reporting the terrain is making it difficult to fight the fire. Additional fire departments being requested.

Original Story

The Guthrie Fire Department has responded to a grass fire near Highway 33 and Westminister Road on Friday. The head of the fire is reported to be a half-mile to the south.

The call came in at 12:51 p.m.

Guthrie Fire has requested Coyle and Langston fire departments to assist.

The fire has moved into cedar trees.
