After week seven of the high school football season, district 5A-1 became a little more clear as far who should make the playoff’s. Guthrie’s win over the Titans all but wraps up the top spot while Carl Albert, Deer Creek, and Ada play will play for the final three spots.
Duncan 14, Lawton Mac 24
The Demons scored on their second possession and then jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but Mac scored 24-unanswered points to grab a hold of the 5A-2 district championship.
Ponca City 7, Tulsa Union 47
The Union Redskins appear to be on their way to their 13th straights 6A-4 district championship with the win over the Poncan’s.
Enid 19, Bixby 20
Enid let a 19-6 lead with under four minutes to play as Bixby escaped with the win on Enid’s home turf. Earlier this, Enid let go of a 17-0 first quarter lead to Midwest City.
Deer Creek 48, Western Heights 14
The Antlers piled on 283 yards and six touchdowns on the ground and was highlighted by Alex Christesen’s 92-yards on 11-carries. Deer Creek is now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in district play.
Ada 55, El Reno 13
Ada’s win was huge and not just on the scoreboard as the Coug’s may have put themselves in the playoff’s and now the Indian’s are on the outside looking in.
Noble 39, Southeast 12
The Noble Bears picked up their first win of the season in a rout over the Spartans. Southeast started the season 3-0, but now have dropped four in a row.
