Expectations were high for a great turnout in a fundraising car wash for the Evans and Nyte families. As expected, Guthrie did not disappoint.
Thousands of dollars were raised, along with emotional support and prayers, from the community and state for the family of the woman and children who died a week ago in a fire.
On Sunday at the Guthrie High School parking lot, the Guthrie community gathered for a car wash fundraiser for the family of Paisley Evans, Bentley Evans, Carson Nyte and Melissa Evans. Related article: Family, community mourning the loss of four

Along with the car wash, hamburgers and baked goods were on hand.
“The turnout is crazy. We’re so amazed. This community comes together in such times like this,” Marsha Reece said who was one of many volunteers to help with the event.
“It’s God just saying, ‘we’re going to do this and we’re going to have fun with it too,’” Reece said.
The Territorial Riders, a local motorcycle club, and seven other clubs from around the state rode their motorcycles for a fundraising event of their own.
A line of approximately 200 motorcycles pulled into the parking lot, while the family watched with tears of appreciation.
For those who missed the fundraiser but still want to help the family, a GoFundMe page has been set up.
