Guthrie Rescue responded to a single vehicle accident on Saturday morning on Interstate 35. Upon arrival, one person was killed when the vehicle left the highway and crashing into a tree line.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, along with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, also responded at around 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 151.
Witnesses tell Guthrie News Page that the vehicle was traveling north bound on the highway and suddenly went off the road and down into the steep median, but never slowed down.
The vehicle continued up the grassy median and going across south bound lanes before traveling down the west side of the highway.
Motorists from Wichita, who were traveling to Oklahoma City, quickly went down to try to help the victim, but could not find a pulse as paramedics arrived on the scene.
Guthrie News Page will have more on this story has more becomes available.
