The Guthrie Police Department received one of the greatest compliments they could ever receive.
Students from Fogarty Elementary presented them with thank you pictures and messages for keeping them extra safe throughout the entire school week after a frightening beginning for most.
The police department and Guthrie Public Schools were placed on a high alert notice after a high school student made threats to other students on Dec. 14. The juvenile was arrested and suspended from school after investigations were concluded on Monday.
The police department, who was aided by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, placed officers and deputies at each of the schools throughout the week and provided an extra watch. Their presence was not only calming for students and faculty, but parents as well.
