Due to illness of multiple staff members at Charter Oak Elementary, the school will transition to distance learning for Thursday, December 16.
“This situation arose quickly and appears, at this time, to be isolated at Charter Oak,” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said.
Parents will receive notification of assignments from the school.
“The fact that this is the first time since the pandemic began that we have not been able to open a school for in-person instruction is a testament to the outstanding efforts of our staff,” Simpson said in a release.
Grab and go meals will be available on Thursday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the school. Breakfast and lunch will be available.
The entire district has already scheduled Friday, December 17th as a distance learning day so interested staff members may receive their COVID booster shot.
On Friday, grab and go meals will be available at Cotteral, Central and Charter Oak Elementary Schools for anyone 18 and under from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.
