Incumbents Bauman, Pearson re-elected for second term

Bookmark and Share

It was not the biggest turnout in Logan County history, but several voters made their way to the polls for Tuesday’s General Election.

An estimated 17,000 voters made their choice count and re-elected Sheriff Jim Bauman (R) to another four-year term by gathering 60.1% of the vote over Ben Mchand (D) and John W. Marshall (I).

“Thank You Logan County! I am looking forward to another four years of professional service to the citizens of Logan County,” Bauman told Guthrie News Page soon after he was announced as the projected winner.

Bauman won all three voting categories: absentee mail (525-236-67), early voting (1,317-837-142) and election day voting (8,264-5,482-1,234).

Results of the State elections will be certified by the  State Election Board at 5 p.m. on Tuesday

Six of the 22 precincts voted in the Logan County Commissioner District 2 race and saw Republican incumbent Michael Pearson coming away with the distinctive win over Gene Foyil.

Pearson collected 66.2% of the vote, or 3,544 votes and easily took all three voting categories.

Logan County voters selected Mitt Romney over Barack Obama in the presidential race with about a three-to-one vote (72.4% to 27.6%).

All six state questions were passed by Logan County voters as did the entire state.
