Guthrie and El Reno will met on the gridiron for Thursday’s Fall Break game inside Jelsma Stadium. The series will end for at least the next two seasons with the Indians moving into a new district beginning next season.

The BlueJays (6-0, 3-0) will be coming off an emotional 28-21 win last week over previous No. 1 ranked Carl Albert to keep their unbeaten season alive at 6-0. Now, the Jays will put their 23-game home winning streak on the line against the 2-4 Indians.
El Reno (2-4, 1-2) won their second game on the year, but not before getting a scare from Northwest Classen. The Indians held a 28-0 lead before Classen scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
After starting the season off with two losses (Woodward and Chickasha), El Reno got their first win in week three with a 1-point decision over Noble. In district play, the Indians are 1-2 with losses coming to McGuinness (13-56) and Deer Creek (70-0).
First year head coach Taylor Schwerdtfeger was hoping his new look offense would be able to put points on the board, but so far have scored less this season. In 2013, the Indians are averaging 17 points a game while allowing 42 to their opponents.
El Reno has allowed their opponents to score 40-plus points three times this season after allowing them to clip the mark four times last year. The defense will have their hands full with a Guthrie team averaging 49 points a contest.
Guthrie has own the series since 2001 with an 11-1 mark. The lone win for the Indians was in Guthrie in the 2009 game when they shut-out the Jays 18-0 in front of the Homecoming crowd. That season the Indians were 12-1, but since has compiled a 13-23 record.
The Indians will be paced offensively and defensively by Justin Brown. The senior was the Indians top receiver with 500 yards, but this season is being called upon to run the ball much more. On defense a year ago he hauled in 102 tackles and four interceptions.
Brown, who wears jersey No. 5, collected 137 yards rushing on 20 carries and added an additional 92 yards receiving on seven catches last week. He finished with 229 of the offense’s 284 yards.
Sophomore quarterback Karson Baker was a respectful 11-of-19 passing for 137 yards in the win last week over the Knights.
