Guthrie High School’s Josh Dement made it official on Tuesday afternoon by signing to play college baseball at Principia College.
Dement, a three-year starter, signed his letter in front of his family, coaches, teammates, and friends inside the lobby at Guthrie High School.
The senior played in all 34 games for the Jays and finished with 29 hits, a slugging percentage of .320, and an on-base percentage of .356.
Principia College is a Division III school in Elash, Illinois.
“We are appreciative of the Principia baseball coaches for believing in him and giving him the chance to further his passion in baseball,” Dement’s father Adam said.
