Juveniles arrested after stealing merchandise from ’89er vendors

Three juveniles did not get very far after breaking into vendors booths and stealing merchandise early Saturday morning in the downtown area.

Guthrie Police say the juveniles found a hole in one booth and broke in to another.

One craft vendor, who was set up on 1st Street for the ’89er Days celebration, was sleeping in the booth when they heard the juveniles enter.

The juveniles took off on foot, but were taken into custody a short distance later by police.

“Good job Guthrie Police Department,” a ’89er Days spokesperson said in a social media post.

Officers said among the merchandise taken were pocket tasers, but that almost all of the stolen goods were recovered and returned to the vendors.
